Ron Masters, Ph.D.
Certified Wildlife Biologist, Certified Forester,   Registered Forester
Wildlife and Fisheries Science

The background I gained in forestry and wildlife courses at UT was on target and cutting edge. I was exceptionally well-prepared in graduate school and able to compete with the best students from other universities. The writing and critical thinking skills developed through assignments, labs and projects such as management plan development, prepared me for reviewing projects and makeing recommendations. Being an active student member in the Society of American Foresters and The Wildlife Society gave me a variety of actual field experiences that separated me from other applicants in my later job pursuits. The advice from my academic advisors and mentors proved to be a roadmap for success in my chosen career field.

My first visit to Tall Timbers was in the summer of 1973 as part of forestry summer camp. Tall Timbers was where fire ecology first began as a science. Now, almost 30 yearts later, I am overseeing the research program at this internationally know research center.
