The education I received in the Animal Science, CASNR undergraduate program, has been very helpful to me during veterinary school. The exposure to large animal handling and management is better than what you get in the first three years of vet school.
Being on campus, stopping by the dean’s office and getting to know some of the vets on the selection committee helped relieve some of the stress of applying to vet school. I would suggest an animal science major to anyone who is interested in applying to veterinary school.
