As medical students on full scholarships to Vanderbilt Medical School, we're often asked about our unique undergraduate background. We tell them choosing a major in UT's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASRN) was one of the best decisions we ever made!

With its outstanding faculty and opportunities for research, CASNR gave us an excellent education, preparing us for the academic rigors of medical school and the challenges of being doctors. Our participation in CASNR campus activities taught us leadership, responsibility, dedication and teamwork, traits that are so critical to the work we do every day now. The diversity of interests and career choices available to our fellow CASNR calssmates also enriched our lives and broadened our view of the world.

No other institution could have provided us such a wealth of opportunities combined with the individual attention each CASNR student received. With its excellent advising system and opportunities for scholarship money, CASNR wholeheartedly invests in its students. In the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, we found more than an academic college, we found a family and a second home. From its outstanding faculty members to the special bond shared by its students, CASNR will always have a special place in our hearts.
