Membership Criteria: Members are chosen on the basis of background, academic major and other interests. New member rush is held at the beginning of each semester.

Membership Criteria: Members (male and female) must be of junior or senior class standing, rank in the top 40% of their class and demonstrate leadership ability.
Purpose/Goals: Alpha Zeta is a national honor society which promotes the advancement of agriculture and recognizes academic and extracurricular excellence.

Ambassadors for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources
Membership Criteria: Must be a full-time student enrolled in any academic major within the College of Agricultural Sciences and N
atural Resources (CASNR), maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher, have at least 30 credit hours, and in good standing with the university. Students serve a maximum of 2 years as an ambassador.
Purpose/Goals: The purpose of the organization is to recruit prospective students to CASNR, involve the student body in its goals, and stimulate community interest in agricultural sciences and natural resources.

American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE)
Membership Criteria: This professional organization is open to all students interested in the agricultural and biosystems engineering professions.
Purpose/Goals: To provide members with the opportunity to participate in professional activities, educational programs, community service projects and social events.
Meeting Schedule: ASAE meets twice monthly with one meeting devoted to professional programs, which include guest speakers from industry, campus organizations and pre-professional workshops. Other meetings are devoted primarily to business and community service projects. The club also sponsors various social activities.

Dairy Club
Membership Criteria: Open to all students interested in promoting the dairy industry.
Purpose/Goals: The club seeks to develop a network among students and others in the dairy sector. Their mission is to "instill a love and appreciation for the dairy cow and the industry." Activities include the annual Dairy Day Sale, industry tours, sponsorship of a Rook tournament, dinner socials and industry speakers.

Dairy Judging Team
Membership Criteria: Team members should be enrolled in AS362, Dairy Cattle Evaluation
Purpose/Goals: The Dairy Judging Team is a fun way to learn more about the dairy industry, while meeting new people and seeing new places. The team evaluates dairy cattle for quality, structure, and overall conformation. The contests involve evaluating several classes of dairy cattle and giving oral reason to support the evaluation.Team members attend contests in Tennessee, Kentucky and Wisconsin.

Dairy Products Evaluation Team
Membership Criteria: Team members should be enrolled in FST 442 for 2 hours credit. Graduate students are eligible to compete.
Purpose/Goals: The team allows students an opportunity to learn to evaluate the quality of many different types of dairy products. The team participates in two competitions, one of which is a Midwest regional competition and a national competition.
Meeting Schedule: The team meets at least four times a week during the first part of the fall semester to learn evaluation techniques and practice.

Purpose/Goals: The Food Science Club is a student chapter of the national Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). Gamma Sigma Delta
Membership Criteria: Students are nominated for membership. Nominees must have one academic year in residence at UT(completing at least 90 semester hours at the time of nomination), rank in the upper 15% of their graduating class, and have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA. Vet. Med. students must have at least one year in residence, and have completed two years of academic requirements with a 3.50 or higher GPA, and be in the upper 15% of their respective class.
Purpose/Goals: To encourage high standards of scholarship, character, leadership, and proficiency in all branches of agriculture, natural resources and veterinary medicine.

Meat Judging Team
Membership Criteria: Students should be enrolled in FST 269, Meat Evaluation and Grading.
Purpose/Goals: Participation in the Meat Judging Team enables a student to develop practical skills in meat evaluation and grading. Students learn how to evaluate meat cuts and carcasses, how to yield grade and quality grade beef carcasses and to determine if cuts meet accepted standards. Meat judging contests allow students to match skills with students from other universities.

Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS)
Membership Criteria: Minorities and others in the field of agriculture and related disciplines.
Purpose/Goals: The UT chapter of MANRRS is one of 28 chapters of the national organization that strives to increase and support the number of minorities seeking degrees and careers in agriculture, natural sciences and related sciences.
Meeting Schedule: Students meet twice monthly, and representatives attend a regional conference in the fall and a national conference in the spring.

National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA)/AgriBusiness Club
Membership Criteria: Membership is open to any major interested in the agribusiness industry.
Purpose/Goals: The club is an official student chapter of the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) and is sponsored by the Department of Agricultural Economics. The focus of the club is to provide students with opportunities to grow professionally and to prepare for their future careers while enjoying the good fellowship and interaction of members and industry contacts.
Meeting Schedule: The club meets monthly and helps support the NAMA Marketing Competition Team.

National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA)/ Marketing Team
Membership Criteria: Open to all students.
Purpose/Goals: The NAMA Marketing Team prepares a total marketing plan for a product sold to or by farmers. The plan includes product definition, market competition, promotion program, financial analysis, evaluation and contingency plan. The final presentation of the plan is made in oral, written and visual format in competition with 30 to 35 other collegiate chapters at the National Agri-Marketing Conference held each spring in a major U.S. city. (Academic credit can be earned for participation.)

PLANET (Professional Landcare Network)
Purpose/Goals: PLANET student career days are attended annually by students in the Horticulture Club. Approximately 60 colleges and universities participate in nearly 24 various competitive events ranging from landscape design to plant material identification to sales presentations and business management. In addition to the competitive events, approximately 100 different businesses and companies are represented in a career trade show in which students interview for internships and full-time positions.

Soil Judging Team
Membership Criteria: Students should be enrolled in PSS 292, Soil Morphology.
Purpose/Goals: Team promotes professionalism in the soil conservation industry. Students evaluate samples of soil and take descriptions of the samples. Students compete in a fall regional competition, and if the team places in the top four, students compete again in the spring national competition.

Student Livestock Association
Membership Criteria: Open to all students.
Purpose/Goals: The UT Student Livestock Association, a student chapter of the American Society of Animal Science, is devoted to giving students opportunities to put their classroom knowledge to practical use. The club is involved in many university and college-wide activities including Vol Challenge, Ag Day and Varsity Visit. They also host a number of events focused on animal agriculture for state 4-H and FFA students including Block & Bridle Round-Up, Club Lamb Sale and the Rocky Top Classic Steer and Heifer Show. Additionally, the club hosts social activities such as the annual Animal Science Smoker and Academic Quadrathalon. Members have the opportunity to attend the national Block & Bridle Convention and the Tennessee and National Cattlemen's Association Conventions.

Purpose/Goals: Xi Sigma Pi is an international honor society in forestry. It was established for the advancement of students interested in forest resource management.
